Billy Joel was thrilled to 'hang out' with Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran, discusses the 100th MSG show.

Billy Joel has been exceptionally popular lately, with his first new song in 17 years, a Grammy Award performance, and his final Madison Square Garden residency gig approaching in July.  

When asked how he is feeling after being thrown back into the spotlight, he laughs.  

"A little overwhelmed. Joel explains, "I am not used to the whole megillah that comes with releasing a new record."  

He's referring to his January single "Turn the Lights Back On," which became his first Billboard Hot 100 hit since 1997.  

In addition to these feats, he is nearing the end of his record-breaking stint at Madison Square Garden, which began in January 2014 and will end on July 25.  

Joel has played the legendary New York arena nearly 150 times in his six-decade career, but his March 28 performance marked the 100th gig of his residency,  

a milestone he celebrated onstage with friends Jerry Seinfeld and Sting.  

Even without a monthly appearance at The Garden, Joel will continue to tour the country, selling out stadiums with his sometimes-acidic,
