Chiefs Owner Is Heartbroken Over Cheerleader's Death

Krystal Anderson, 40, died during childbirth. She died from sepsis after giving birth to a stillborn child.

"We are terribly grieved by the recent demise of CC alum Krystal. Krissy attended approximately 100 games with us between 2006 and 2011, as well as 2013 and 2016.

During that time, she represented the Chiefs at the Pro Bowl in 2015, captained her team, cheered at the London game, and visited our troops all around the world, including Iraq, Kuwait, and the United States.

"She was loved and adored by her teammates, fans, and strangers who were never strangers for long," the Chiefs said.

"After her time as a cheerleader, she continued to share her love of dancing and Chiefs Cheer by volunteering as an alumni on game days, practices, and events.

We will miss her gentle spirit, happy energy, and brilliance. We are thinking and praying for her family and loved ones. We will appreciate every time we spent with her. We will explain how we will continue to commemorate her legacy in the future ❤️💛.

Tavia Hunt, the wife of Chiefs owner Clark Hunt, is devastated by the death.

"A profound loss for our team, organization, and anyone who crossed her path.💔"Krissy, we love you and miss you.Hug Lamar and Norma for us."❤️💛🙏🏼" she wrote.
