Kayla Harrison’s first official UFC bantamweight photos emerge for UFC 300

Kayla Harrison is two days away from her debut as a bantamweight, and promotional photographs for UFC 300 show her transformation.

Harrison, a multiple-time PFL 155-pound champion, will meet former champion Holly Holm in the final battle before Saturday's pay-per-view program. A major theme leading up to the blockbuster pay-per-view is whether or not she can gain weight.

Harrison's first images demonstrate her improvement since beginning the challenge, though she has warned that her last push to 135 pounds will be the most difficult of the voyage.

Harrison, 33, most recently competed in the cage for the PFL, her longstanding promotional home since switching from judo to MMA, where she won two Olympic gold medals.

She defeated UFC veteran Aspen Ladd, rebounding from her first professional loss, a 2022 decision loss to three-time opponent Larissa Pacheco, which lost her a third PFL tournament win after winning the competition twice; she had previously defeated Pacheco twice.

This is Harrison's 2022 ceremonial weigh-in photo as a lightweight. She has also competed as an MMA featherweight, winning quickly in the all-female Invicta FC organization.

Holm, 42, last appeared in the UFC in July at UFC Vegas 77, where she lost by submission to Mayra Bueno Silva. The setback was eventually reversed after Silva failed a post-fight drug test. Prior to that, Holm defeated Yana Santos.

Holm is 5-6 since defeating Ronda Rousey to claim the UFC bantamweight title in 2015.
