Kevin Costner Would “Love” To Return To ‘Yellowstone’ For Final Chapter

Kevin Costner has finally spoken up about his future on Yellowstone.

Speaking with ET at CinemaCon on Tuesday, the actor addressed a subject that has plagued fans of the Paramount smash since last year: will Costner reprise his role as John Dutton in the show's final season?

"I'd like to do it, but we haven't been able to," he told the site. "...I expected to make seven [seasons], but we're currently at five.

So, I hope it works out, but they have a lot of other shows going on. Perhaps it will. Perhaps this will lead back to me. If it happens, and I'm completely comfortable with it, I'd love to do it."

Costner also admitted to planning how his Yellowstone character's journey would finish, despite the fact that creator Taylor Sheridan ultimately makes the final decision.

"Well, you know, he needs to be proactive in what happens and I've kind of had my own fantasy how it might be, but that's Taylor's thing,"

the award-winning actor told ET. "I told him as much a while ago. I had some ideas about how it may happen, but we'll have to see."

Costner isn't the only famous figure waiting for a call from Sheridan regarding the second half of season five. Lainey Wilson recently told ET that she, too, is uncertain about her future with the show.
