Kevin Costner’s Western epic ‘Horizon, An American Saga’ will premiere at Cannes

The Cannes Film Festival has announced that Kevin Costner's multi-episode epic "Horizon, An American Saga" will have its world premiere next month. Producers made the announcement on Monday.

On May 19, the debut of the first chapter of "Horizon" will take place at the French film festival, offering the public its initial look at Costner's enormous Western epic. 

Next summer, Warner Bros. will release the first chapter of "Horizon" on June 28 and the second installment on August 16. The two sections will be released in fast succession.

"It's been 20 years since I've had the pleasure of being on the Croisette," made a statement Costner. "I am pleased to announce that the time has arrived for my return; I have been patiently waiting for this hour."

With an additional, "The French have always supported films and believed deeply in filmmaking" flourish, Costner said. "To the same extent that I have firm faith in my film."

Directed by Costner and starring him, Sienna Miller, Sam Worthington, and Jena Malone is "Horizon," which will be screened before the main competition at Cannes.

From May 14th to the 25th, the 77th Cannes Film Festival will proceed. Warner Bros.' 

 George Miller's "Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga" will also have a high-profile debut in Cannes. Thursday will see the unveiling of the complete program.
