MEMPHIS GRIZZLIES' JA MORANT WINS IN COURT; JUDGE CITES SELF-DEFENSE IN TEEN PUNCHING INCIDENT.  

In what appears to be a judicial crossover, Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant has won a ruling in Shelby County Court  

Joshua Holloway during a 2022 basketball game was an act of self-defense.  

The judgment highlights Tennessee's self-defense immunity provision, which now shifts the burden of proof to Holloway's legal team.  

The incident occurred at Morant's home court in Eads during a furious pickup game.  

Holloway, evidently upset about losing, made a hard pass that struck Morant square in the face.

This led to the NBA player asking, "What are you on?" When Holloway appeared to be preparing for a fight, Morant refused to back down, according to WMC.  

The brief scuffle culminated with Morant swinging at the adolescent, sparking a much-discussed altercation that resulted in both headlines and litigation.  

According to a RealGM report, Morant stated during a December 2023 civil immunity hearing that he threw the first punch
