SpaceX launches Falcon 9 for Starlink from Cape Canaveral.

From Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, SpaceX launched its latest Starlink satellites. The Falcon 9 launch was 2024's 24th dedicated Starlink trip.

Starlink 6-48 launched from Space Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station at 1:40 a.m. EDT.

SpaceX's Falcon 9 first stage booster, B1083, will launch again for this mission. Its first flight supported the March 3, 2024 Crew-8 human mission to the International Space Station.

B1083 touched down on the SpaceX droneship ‘Just Read the Instructions’ 8.5 minutes after liftoff. This was the 295th booster landing and 77th JRTI landing.

Jonathan McDowell, an astronomer and spacecraft tracker, reported 5,765 Starlink satellites in low Earth orbit on April 7. The midnight mission added 23 satellites to the running total.

At the 39th Annual Space Symposium in Colorado, Vast announced that Haven-1, its commercial space station, will provide Starlink internet connectivity.

Starlink wants to expand beyond Haven-1 to encompass additional giant platforms in NASA's planned commercial low Earth orbit competition.

A year earlier, Vast revealed its deal with SpaceX to carry two astronauts to Haven-1 after its 2025 Falcon 9 flight.
