Taylor Swift Among 265 Newcomers on Forbes' Billionaires List for 2024

Taylor Swift made Forbes' annual list of the world's richest individuals in 2023 after enthralling audiences. The 12-time Grammy winner earned over $780 million on the U.S. Eras Tour in 2023, claims Forbes." 

It's been an amazing year for the world's richest people, with more billionaires than ever before," Forbes wealth editor Chase Peterson-Withorn told The Guardian. "A record 14% of billionaires have 12-figure wealth. While many struggle financially, the super-rich thrive."

Swift didn't need "lucrative side hustles" to reach 2,545 on the Billionaires' list, the publication reported. She may be one of the few who succeeded completely via composing and performing.

In 2024, only 0.5% of the world's 2,781 billionaires held 14% of billionaire wealth, 255% richer than a decade earlier. Swift joined the Forbes list of 265 rookies this year.

The "Blank Space" singer surpassed the milestone after her tour grossed over $1.1 billion. "The billionaire list is an annual measurement of how much of the global economy's wealth goes to a tiny caste of oligarchs rather than mankind. The High Pay Centre executive director Luke Hildyard said spreading money more equitably, proportionately, and efficiently should be the top priority of the next few decades.

This list's newest version has Bernard Arnault as the world's wealthiest person with $230 billion as LVMH's major owner. Following closely is SpaceX founder and CEO Elon Musk, worth $195 billion.
